Are the Missouri Tigers finally waking up from an all year snooze?

As a Missouri Tiger fan, it is a sight for sore eyes to finally see the talent they have play well on the court. I am trying to figure out if this is an aberration or if they have decided to start playing for keeps. They ended the Colorado game on an 18-2 run and now up over 20 late in the 1st half against UNLV. At 10-10 going into today's game, Missouri would nearly have to win out or win Big 12 tournament to get in Big Dance. Could this be a precursor of getting everything together?

another scary team come conf tourny time.

i thought i saw missouri ranked #4 to start the year. if so, i completely forgot about it.

i hated even giving the points today to a terriable road team in unlv.

good thing i use a system and not my emotion.

A win is a win, builds confidence, that is what missouri needs. I hope they get there shit together, I picked them as my preseason favorite to win it all.

This Missouri team has played lousy against everybody regardless of conference (eg: Belmont loss at home). I am starting to think that with Pulley (transfer),Kroenke (injury), and Kleiza (injury-out for year) all out, that maybe they finally have a set rotation. Maybe they had too much talent for their own good and less of it has allowed them to start to gel. Obviously we won't know until they get back on the road and play as they have always been a good home team. I am just wondering if they get hot down the stretch (6 remaining games including Iowa State, Kansas, and Oklahoma State at home and Texas Tech on road) and do well in conference tournament if this team could find a way to sneak into the Big Dance. Who knows maybe just a homer with wishful thinking?

#1Capper,

I also thought they would win it all this year. I might also note though there has been no announcement, word has it that there will be reported soon no major infractions and that they will not go on probation. Maybe the noose around their neck is starting to come off and they can just play. First time all year they look like they are having some fun! Best of luck.

Tahoerebel,

Sorry about your Rebels today but I can tell you this has not been a fun season for me as a Missouri fan. I was expecting this to be the first year we went to Final Four. I would have never expected what has happened this year. Best of luck the rest of the day!

These guys finally get it ! You have to play as a team on both sides of the court. Let's see what happens Wed at home against Iowa State.

I live in missouri and have watched this team all year long..problem they have is they have no point guard to run the offense at all..being a former pt guard, i would have thought quin would have had this problem figured out much sooner..they tried to give conley kid (vcu xfer and former ncaa scoring champ) too many chances, and didnt give gardner a chance..gardner finally got a chance a few weeks ago at home against the huskers and the tigers have played much better ball since..still they stink on the road, as they again need that floor leader to run the show...

coloradobuff,

I agree they don't play well on road but they still have victories at Indiana and Oklahoma and played Gonzaga to overtime in a game they should have won and played Kansas tough as well. I am also from the area. Only time will tell but this team does best when expectations are gone!

coloradobuff,

I will tell you that Missouri has a great chance of landing one of the top 5 point guards in the country for Texas in this year's recruiting class. Though it won't help this year. I was impressed today though that they had only 2 turnovers in the first half when the game was still in doubt. What part of Missouri do you live? St Louis?Kansas City? Other?

I will actually be in Osage Beach on Wednesday this week. Small world. I am from the St. Louis area though I now live in Chicago. I spend most of my time though working in Missouri.

too funny..where did u go to college? i am a buff (hence the handle, coloradobuff)..was actually team manager for them from 91-94..quit right before my senior year because i knew they had no chance at making the ncaa's and wanted to enjoy my last year of college...missouri was my favorite big 8 road trip after kansas (the antlers were ruthless but they knew their hoops!)..would love to see the buffs make the tourney again this year, but they needed to beat kansas at home, and i think they will need to go to big 12 conference championship game (but dont have to win it) to have a chance..

I actually went to college at Purdue. I also wanted to go out of state to college. But still Missouri is my team with Boilers second fiddle. What high school did you go to?
